Job description

The Receptionist / Sales Cadet is responsible for providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for Harcourts Cowes, while supporting the residential sales team with day-to-day administration, customer service and sales activities. This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated person seeking to develop a career in residential real estate. The successful candidate will gain practical experience across reception, office administration, property marketing, database management and sales support, while developing a strong understanding of the Phillip Island property market.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet clients, buyers, vendors and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answer and respond to general enquiries and monitor and respond to office emails and online enquiries as directed
  • Provide information about listed properties, inspections and general agency services
  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception and office environment
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, deliveries and office supplies
  • Record messages accurately and ensure enquiries are passed to the appropriate team member
  • Assist sales agents with day-to-day administrative tasks and follow-up
  • Update databases and customer records accurately
  • Assist with booking and coordinating appointments, inspections and meetings
  • Prepare open-for-inspection materials and property information

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence learning new software systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport, or the ability to travel to properties and inspections as required
  • An interest in residential real estate and the local Phillip Island property market (desirable)
  • Experience with real estate software, CRM systems or Microsoft Office (desirable)
