for an experienced Work Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE) Specialist to join a high-performing team supporting a nationally significant government program based in Rockingham, WA.

About the Role

\n

As a WHSE Specialist, you will provide specialist advice and support across safety governance, assurance, risk management, incident management and organisational learning activities. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace environment.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of WHSE management systems, policies and procedures.
\n
• Provide specialist advice on WHS and environmental compliance, governance and risk management.
\n
• Support audits, inspections, investigations, risk assessments and assurance activities.
\n
• Analyse and report on WHSE data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Assist in incident management, corrective action tracking and organisational learning processes.
\n
• Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
\n
• Develop and maintain WHSE reporting, metrics and performance dashboards.
\n
• Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders on complex safety matters.
\n
• Promote a positive safety culture through education, awareness and continuous improvement activities.
\n

About You

\n

To be successful, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in a WHS, HSE or WHSE advisory role within a complex operational environment.
\n
• Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety management practices.
\n
• Experience conducting audits, workplace inspections and risk assessments.
\n
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data and trends.
\n
• Experience supporting incident investigations and corrective action programs.
\n
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
\n
• Strong problem-solving capability and sound judgement.
\n
• The ability to prioritise competing demands and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Experience

\n

\n
• Experience working within government, defence, infrastructure, resources, maritime, transport or other highly regulated industries.
\n
• Qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
\n
• Experience supporting large-scale operational or infrastructure programs.
\n
