The Opportunity

We are seeking a vibrant and committed Barista to join our Deco Lounge team. As a Barista, you will play an important role in delivering warm, personalised service across breakfast, all-day lounge dining, and beverage experiences. You will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages, engaging with guests, taking orders, and sharing your knowledge of our menu to create memorable guest experiences.

You will also support the smooth opening and closing of the outlet, maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and ensure accurate billing and efficient service throughout each shift.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages consistently and efficiently
• Deliver warm, personalised service and create positive guest experiences
• Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of coffee, tea, beverages, and menu offerings
• Engage with guests and confidently make recommendations based on their preferences
• Maintain the presentation, cleanliness, and organisation of the coffee and service areas
• Assist with breakfast and all-day lounge service as required
• Support outlet opening and closing procedures
• Process payments and maintain accurate billing
• Monitor stock levels and assist with restocking coffee, milk, beverages, and service supplies
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with the wider hotel team to ensure seamless guest service
• Respond to guest requests and resolve concerns with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach
• Maintain the highest standards of service, product quality, and attention to detail

Profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Barista or Food & Beverage role within a hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge and genuine passion for coffee, including espresso-based beverages and coffee preparation
• Experience with specialty coffee and commercial coffee equipment preferred
• Knowledge of tea, cocktails, wine, and food is advantageous
• Experience in premium dining, hotel, café, or lounge service
• Experience using POS ordering and payment systems
• Strong understanding of sequence of service
• Passion for creating engaging guest experiences through product knowledge and personalised service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Full working rights in Australia
• Availability to work a rotating roster across early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
