Child Care Worker

Birds of Paradise Community College is seeking an experienced, motivated and dedicated Child Care Worker to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in a safe, nurturing and inclusive early childhood environment.
• Assist in preparing materials and equipment for children's educational, developmental and recreational activities.
• Prepare and conduct age-appropriate learning and play experiences for children.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities and daily routines.
• Support children's social and emotional development and guide positive behaviour.
• Assist children with personal care, hygiene, meals, rest and other daily routines.
• Observe children's learning, development, interests and wellbeing and contribute to appropriate documentation.
• Support the implementation of educational programs and experiences in accordance with the service's program and approved learning framework.
• Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with children and families.
• Work collaboratively with other educators and members of the service team.
• Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating learning environment.
• Follow the service's child safety, supervision, health, hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development as required.
• Comply with applicable early childhood education and care requirements and the service's policies and procedures.

Relevant Qualification Required

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or other relevant recognised qualification.

Relevant Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience working with children in an early childhood education and care environment.
• Experience providing care and supervision to children in a centre-based service.
• Experience supporting children's learning, development and daily routines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships with children and families.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of children's care, development and wellbeing.
• Ability to plan and conduct age-appropriate activities.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Commitment to child safety and high-quality education and care.

Pay range : $79,499 to $84,499 plus superannuation.
