About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our Sassafras team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work in a non-menu environment, where meals are curated weekly, allowing ample time for planning, preparation, and creativity. The focus is on wholesome, beautifully presented, restaurant-quality meals that nourish and delight our guests.

You’ll be working within a supportive and calm environment that values presentation, quality ingredients, and attention to detail. Each meal is an opportunity to showcase your craft — from seasonal produce to inspired plating.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare a rotating weekly menu focused on freshness, balance, and variety
• Prepare and serve high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
• Manage kitchen operations including ordering, stock rotation, and hygiene standards
• Maintain a clean, organised, and aesthetically presented kitchen
• Work collaboratively with the management team to uphold HARP’s standards of excellence
• Accommodate dietary requirements with care and precision

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified chef or experienced cook with a strong passion for food and creativity
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge of seasonal produce and balanced nutrition
• High attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards
• Calm, professional demeanour suited to a luxury hospitality environment
• Previous experience in boutique hotels, retreats, or high-end hospitality preferred
