Care Fast is seeking a Clinical Training and Development Lead to combine hands-on clinical support, clinical leadership and practical workforce development across our disability services.

Care Fast specialises in Supported Independent Living (SIL), including support for people with complex health and high-intensity support needs. We know that when our frontline teams feel capable, supported and confident, they can achieve better outcomes for participants.

This is a new role with the opportunity to help shape how clinical guidance, training and mentoring are delivered across our growing organisation. It is a player-and-coach role, combining hands-on clinical support with coaching and developing frontline teams.

This is a hybrid office, work-from-home and field-based role, with regular visits to Care Fast’s SIL homes and service locations.

About the opportunity

Working closely with participants, families, treating professionals and Care Fast’s operational teams, you will help translate clinical support plans into safe, consistent everyday practice.

You will provide participant-facing clinical support, visit SIL homes, guide support workers and strengthen workforce capability through practical training, coaching and supervised practice.

Your calm leadership and sound clinical judgement will help our teams recognise changes in participants’ health, respond appropriately and understand when further clinical assistance is required.

What you’ll do

Clinical care and leadership

Support the implementation of clinical and complex health support plans.

Provide clinical assessment, care planning and clinical support within your professional scope of practice.

Provide clinical leadership and expert clinical guidance to support safe, respectful and person-centred care.

Undertake regular onsite visits to monitor participant health outcomes and support consistent clinical practice within SIL homes.

Guide teams supporting participants with complex health and high-intensity support needs.

Help staff recognise, document and escalation changes in a participant’s health or wellbeing.

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with allied health professionals, medical practitioners and other members of the participant’s care team.

Collaborate respectfully with participants, families, guardians and external stakeholders.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Training and workforce development

Develop and deliver practical, participant-specific training based on established clinical support plans.

Coach support workers through demonstrations, supervised practice and competency assessment within your qualifications and authority.

Support staff capability in areas such as medication management, dysphagia, enteral feeding, epilepsy management, diabetes care, wound care, infection prevention and other complex health supports.

Provide medication-related training, including safe administration and the management of high-risk and psychotropic medicines.

Support clinical and high-intensity training within SIL homes when required.

Contribute to staff induction, refresher training and ongoing professional development.

Identify learning needs through onsite observation, documentation reviews, incident learnings and consultation with service teams.

Maintain clear and accurate training and competency records.

Work alongside House Leads, Service Leads and support workers to embed learning into everyday practice.

Who we would love to meet

You are a Registered Nurse or someone with similar clinical experience who combines sound clinical judgement with a calm, practical and supportive approach.

You enjoy working alongside frontline teams and can explain clinical information clearly and respectfully. You understand that effective training is not simply about delivering information—it is about helping workers confidently apply that knowledge to support each participant safely and consistently.

You may bring experience from disability services, community nursing, complex care, rehabilitation, aged care or another relevant health setting.

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, or relevant qualifications and similar clinical experience.

Relevant experience within disability, health, community or social services.

Strong clinical judgement and an understanding of professional scope of practice.

Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one.

Valid driver licence and ability to travel between Care Fast service locations.
