Job description

Plumbing Supervisor – Residential Emergency & Maintenance

Ready to step off the tools and lead a high-performing plumbing team?

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Supervisor to lead, coach and support a team of residential emergency and maintenance plumbers across Sydney.

This is a field-focused leadership position—not a full-time tools role. You will work closely with technicians and operations to improve performance, maintain workmanship standards, ensure compliance and deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

To be considered, you must have:

  • A current NSW Plumbing Contractor Licence

  • Extensive experience in residential emergency and maintenance plumbing

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary package based on experience

  • Permanent, full-time leadership position

  • Opportunity to step away from being permanently on the tools

  • Support from an established operations, dispatch and customer service team

  • Ongoing leadership and professional development

  • Genuine career progression within a growing organisation

  • The authority and resources required to build a high-performing team

  • The opportunity to directly influence team performance, company standards and customer outcomes

The Role

As Plumbing Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of residential plumbers

  • Providing technical direction on emergency, complex and escalated plumbing jobs

  • Conducting regular field visits, ride-alongs and workmanship inspections

  • Monitoring technician performance, productivity, workmanship and customer satisfaction

  • Coaching technicians on diagnosis, quoting, customer communication and job performance

  • Ensuring all work complies with NSW plumbing regulations, Australian Standards and company procedures

  • Improving quality assurance while reducing defects, complaints and call-backs

  • Managing escalated customer concerns and delivering practical resolutions

  • Monitoring team KPIs and holding technicians accountable for their performance

  • Supporting technician recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training

  • Working closely with operations and dispatch to improve scheduling and productivity

  • Ensuring job documentation, photographs and compliance requirements are completed correctly

  • Building a professional, positive and accountable team culture

About You

We are looking for a proven plumbing leader—not simply an experienced tradesperson. You understand residential emergency plumbing, make sound decisions under pressure and know how to develop technicians into confident, accountable and high-performing professionals.

You combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, clear communication and a genuine commitment to outstanding customer service.

In addition to the mandatory licence and industry experience outlined above, you will bring:

  • Previous experience supervising, leading or mentoring plumbers

  • Strong knowledge of NSW plumbing regulations, compliance requirements and Australian Standards

  • Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities

  • The confidence to provide clear technical direction on complex jobs

  • Experience managing technician KPIs, productivity, workmanship and customer satisfaction

  • A strong understanding of quality assurance and call-back reduction

  • Excellent leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills

  • The confidence to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive culture

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment

  • A current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence

  • A professional, solutions-focused attitude with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Why Join Us?

This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you will have the authority to influence technician performance, workmanship standards, customer outcomes and company culture.

You will take ownership of a growing plumbing team and receive the operational support and resources required to build a professional, accountable and high-performing workforce.

If you are ready to move into a senior leadership position and make a measurable impact, we want to hear from you.
