Head of Structural Landscaping

As Head of Structural Landscaping, you will work directly with the owner of Alto Landscaping and take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of landscape construction projects. This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced landscape construction professional who can confidently take responsibility for projects from site set-out through to completion, while leading and developing a small construction team.

Key responsibilities

• Leading landscape construction projects on site
• Managing tradespeople, landscapers and apprentices
• Planning daily and weekly construction activities
• Site set-out, levels and construction sequencing
• Excavation and earthworks
• Operating excavators, mini loaders and landscaping machinery
• Retaining walls, drainage and irrigation infrastructure
• Steel garden edging, welding and fabrication
• Timber construction, raised vegetable and garden beds
• Paving and pathway construction, turf and soil preparation

About you

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction or higher
• Minimum 5 years' landscape construction industry experience
• Strong structural landscaping experience
• Experience supervising or leading staff on site
• Current driver's licence
• White Card
• Strong understanding of construction plans, measurements, levels and set-out
• Ability to independently organise and deliver landscaping projects to a high standard
• Experience in excavation, machinery operation, welding, carpentry, drainage, irrigation, paving and retaining wall construction
