Based in Henderson or Fremantle, the Contract Officer will be responsible for providing high quality contractual administration support to the Construction Management Department. Assisting with the commercial interface between Austal Ships and Austal Defence team, helping to ensure contractual requirements, obligations and risks are understood, management and mitigated back to back.

What’s Involved \n

    \n
  • Provide administrative support in the preparation, review, and management of head subcontract, subcontracts and supplier subcontract agreements in accordance with Austal processes
  • \n
  • Assist with the preparation, review and processing of subcontractor claims and variations, including maintaining records and assisting in preparing draft correspondence for review
  • \n
  • Support the preparation and submission of contractual and commercial documentation to the customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, and track responses to assist with timely approvals and issue resolution
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and up to date contract registers, change logs, claims records and reports within Austal systems and project control tools
  • \n
  • Prepare commercial reports, monitor contract KPIs, produce briefing papers and support management reporting
  • \n
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and assist in maintaining comprehensive records and contractual documentation
  • \n

You’ll Need \n

    \n
  • Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business, Commercial Law, Engineering or a related discipline
  • \n
  • 3+ years experience in contract administration, commercial support or a related role
  • \n
  • Strong written communication skills and professional letter-writing skills
  • \n
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • \n
  • Exposure to financial modelling, cost monitoring, or project variation claims
  • \n
  • Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
  • \n
