Hear and Say is a Queensland wide provider of speech pathology and audiology services. We operate state-wide and support people of all ages - from newborn babies, toddlers, school-age children, and adults.

An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join us in the permanent full-time role of Community Fundraising Specialist .

\n

Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, The Community Fundraising Specialist drives Hear and Say's peer-to-peer campaigns, fundraising events and community group relationships, and produces donor communications that keep supporters engaged between asks. The role works closely with the Philanthropy Manager and the Marketing team to ensure campaigns and events are well planned, well promoted and deliver against revenue and engagement targets.

The role contributes to increasing awareness of Hear and Say, strengthening engagement with our audiences, and sharing the impact of our work to support children and families living with hearing loss.

Key Selection Criteria \n

\n
• Demonstrated experience in a community fundraising, events or donor engagement role
\n
• Tertiary qualification in event management, marketing, communications or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience
\n
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or willingness to obtain
\n

Experience \n

\n
• Minimum three to five years' experience delivering fundraising events and/or peer-to-peer campaigns, ideally within the not-for-profit sector
\n
• Experience using a CRM/donor database and peer-to-peer fundraising platforms to manage relationships, registrations and reporting
\n
• Experience working within the disability, health or not-for-profit sector highly regarded
\n

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes \n

\n
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage warmly with community groups, volunteers and event guests
\n
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and events concurrently
\n
• Excellent written communication skills, including donor newsletters, supporter stories and thank-you correspondence
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence working within a CRM
\n

Key Responsibilities: \n

\n
• Plan, deliver and grow Hear and Say's peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, including the Butterfly Appeal and Loud Shirt Day
\n
• Build and steward a base of community fundraisers, schools and third-party fundraising groups, providing toolkits and resources to support their efforts
\n
• Develop tailored stewardship journeys to keep peer-to-peer fundraisers engaged year-round
\n
• Plan and deliver Hear and Say's fundraising and stewardship events, including the Long Lunch and AGM drinks
\n
• Manage event logistics, budgets, vendor and venue relationships from concept through to delivery
\n
• Coordinate volunteers, sponsors and suppliers to ensure events run smoothly and meet financial targets
\n
• Conduct post-event evaluation and reporting to inform future planning
\n

Donor Communications \n

\n
• Produce Hear and Say's donor newsletter, coordinating content, design and distribution with the Marketing team
\n
• Write engaging supporter and family stories for use across appeals, campaigns and events
\n
• Prepare thank-you communications for community fundraisers, event participants and sponsors
\n

Community Group Relationships \n

\n
• Build and maintain relationships with community groups, clubs, schools and grassroots supporters
\n
• Represent Hear and Say at community events and networking opportunities to build awareness and secure support
\n

Mandatory requirements of this role include- \n

Eligibility to clear probity checks including disability worker screening and working with children check (Yellow Card / Blue Card).

\n

A current open driver’s license is highly desirable, as is the ability to travel to other sites as required.
