YES Youth Employment Services is federally funded to deliver the Transition to Work program, assisting young people aged 17-24 in preparing for, securing, and maintaining employment and/or education. An initiative of Schools Industry Partnership, YES delivers this program across the Penrith, Blue Mountains, and Hawkesbury regions.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Development Coach (YDC) to support young job seekers in gaining meaningful employment and/or education by providing mentoring and one-on-one coaching.

This role will be supporting our Springwood and Katoomba Offices

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Job Search Assistance – Coach participants in job search strategies and applications (online, face-to-face, phone marketing).
• 2.Work Readiness Support – Assist participants in identifying and obtaining necessary qualifications, licenses, and skills required for employment and help them develop workplace confidence and practical skills.
• 3.Education Pathways – Assist participants in identifying and enrolling in suitable education or training opportunities that align with their career goals.
• 4.Mentoring & Support – Provide ongoing one-on-one coaching to reinforce learnings and address vocational and non-vocational challenges.
• 5.Community Engagement – Connect participants with relevant community services and support networks.
• 6.Administrative Duties – Maintain accurate records to ensure program compliance and performance tracking.
• 7.Collaboration & Teamwork – Work closely with team members to enhance program outcomes.
• Case Management – Ability to effectively manage a large caseload while meeting performance measures.
• Youth-Focused Approach – Proven experience in working with young people (15-24) and understanding their unique employment challenges.
• Rapport Building – Strong ability to build trust and engage effectively with young people to support their employment and/or education journey.
• Job & Education Matching – Skilled in matching participants to suitable job opportunities and educational pathways.
• Commitment to Program Growth & Continuous Improvement – Passionate about making a positive impact, with a solutions-focused mindset.
• Adaptability – Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
• Advantaged Thinking – Strengths-based approach to supporting young people in overcoming employment barriers.
• Organisational Skills – Strong administrative and organisational abilities to ensure efficient program delivery.
• Team Collaboration – Ability to work effectively as part of a goal-driven team.
• Licences & Checks – A current NSW driver’s licence, and current Working with Children and Federal Police Checks.
