About the Role Senior School Visual Arts Teacher \n

St Aloysius' College is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Visual Arts Teacher to join our high-performing and creative team on a temporary, full-time basis to cover a period of leave during Term 4, 2026.

\n

The role is offered on a full-time basis; however, applications from candidates seeking a 0.8 FTE arrangement will also be considered.

\n

As part of the Visual Arts and Technology Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating engaging learning experiences in accordance with College expectations and NESA requirements. They will inspire students to develop their creative, critical and technical skills through a dynamic Visual Arts program that values artistic expression, creative design, and connections to contemporary and real‑world creative practice.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, a commitment to collaboration, and the ability to foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes students' academic, social and emotional development.

\n

Applicants must hold appropriate secondary teaching qualifications in Visual Arts and meet NESA accreditation requirements. A sound understanding of syllabus requirements, combined with the ability to contribute to curriculum development and work effectively within a collaborative department, is essential.

• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;
\n
• Possess relevant secondary teaching qualifications, specifically in Visual Arts and eligibility to teach under the requirements of NESA and College policy;
\n
• Experience and demonstrated capacity to teach Visual Arts across all Year groups;
\n
• Ability to create a positive, supportive and engaging classroom climate that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of all students;
\n
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate curriculum collaboratively in accordance with College and NESA syllabus guidelines and outcomes;
\n
• Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to integrate an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning and differentiation strategies;
\n
• Understanding of, and ability to use data to analyse, report on and manage student progress, and to report to parents in a variety of ways that keep them regularly and fully informed of their children’s progress;
\n
• Strong commitment to safeguarding principles;
\n
• Possess a valid Working with Children Check.
