$117,401 - $131,096 per annum (plus Super, plus RDO, plus work provided motor vehicle). Non-hybrid position.

12-month fixed contract (with opportunity to extend).

A little bit about the role

\n

City of Boroondara is a leader in the Local Government sector and one of the nation's most liveable municipal councils. The Team Leader Compliance plays a key role in the leadership of the Civic Services Department, which deliver multiple regulatory services to protect the health, safety, amenity and assets of the city. Our department is a hive of activity with the highest customer interface in Council and no two days will be the same.

Reporting to the Coordinator Compliance Programs and supported by an experienced senior leadership team, key responsibilities include:

\n

Lead, supervise and support a multi-disciplined team of Local Laws and Animal Management Officers.

\n

Drive high standards of investigative practices and service excellence through coaching and mentoring of Officers to enable their success.

\n

Foster an innovative, engaged, customer-focused and high performing team.

\n

Shape a workplace culture underpinned by our core workplace values.

\n

Contribute to the broader, strategic compliance matters across the Department – including public health, construction and parking.

\n

Lead by example to provide exemplary customer service.

\n

Provide relevant technical advice and manage escalated matters by managing up to senior leadership to provide recommendations to resolve high-profile cases.

\n

Coordinate rosters and allocate tasks according to service requirements.

\n

A fully maintained vehicle is provided as 'tool of trade' to perform necessary duties and commute to and from work.

Experience in a regulatory role previously is preferred but not mandatory. People with strong customer service, retail and hospitality leadership backgrounds transition very successfully into this role.
