The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.

Join a dedicated and highly skilled Assertive Community Management Team where you will play a vital role in delivering frontline care to people experiencing drug and alcohol dependence.

Working within a medically led multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessment, care planning, treatment coordination, and ongoing clinical reviews that support individuals on their recovery journey.

What you will bring to the role

• Tertiary qualifications and professional registration/membership as follows: 1. Occupational Therapy - minimum bachelor's degree and general registration with AHPRA; or 2 Social Work - minimum bachelor's degree and eligibility for membership of AASW; or 3. Counsellor - Peak Body (PACFA) recognised / accredited AQF 7 qualifications and eligibility for membership of PACFA as a counsellor.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, care planning and evaluation of psychosocial interventions with adult patients, with ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with level of experience.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting patient assessment of capacity including facilitating relevant report writing and document submission when required.
• Experience working collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated skills in case management of clients with a range of complex issues.
• Knowledge and understanding of the social and emotional needs of patients with drug and alcohol issues including clinical response and management of trauma, grief and loss, domestic and family violence and child protection.
• Knowledge of and commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal patients, families and communities as well as improving the health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups of patients within the local community.
• An ability to liaise with a range of relevant agencies and departments both internal and external to health.
• Current Driver’s Licence and ability to use for work purpose travel.
