What you'll do

\n

As Senior Advisor, School Compliance and Emergency Management, you will support Victorian Catholic schools and boarding premises to meet their regulatory obligations while strengthening sector-wide preparedness and resilience.

\n

Working within the Assurance and Integrity team, you will undertake assurance, moderation and stakeholder engagement activities relating to education compliance, child safety and school registration requirements.

\n

A key focus of the role is emergency management. You will coordinate and oversee Emergency Management Plans (EMPs), support schools in preparedness and planning activities, and provide advice on bushfire readiness, emergency management requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

\n

Working closely with proprietors, government agencies and emergency services, you will help maintain a consistent and coordinated approach to emergency preparedness across the Victorian Catholic sector, while also contributing to complaints and critical incident assurance activities where required.

\n

What you'll bring

\n

You are an experienced assurance, compliance, risk or emergency management professional with strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to provide practical, evidence-based advice.

\n

You bring an understanding of emergency management principles and preparedness requirements, including experience supporting the development, implementation or review of Emergency Management Plans, business continuity arrangements or similar programs.

\n

A confident communicator and relationship builder, you can work effectively with schools, senior stakeholders, government agencies and external partners to support compliance, preparedness and continuous improvement across the sector.

\n

Qualifications, experience and requirements

\n

Relevant tertiary qualification in emergency management, risk, audit, compliance, legal or other relevant field.

\n

A minimum of three years' experience in emergency management or education administration, law, audit, compliance, risk or a related field.

\n

Previous experience in onsite compliance review capacity in a related field would be in held in high regard as would demonstrated experience in emergency management planning, preparedness or working within the Education sector.

\n

Must hold and maintain a valid Victorian driver's license, have access to a reliable car and be willing to travel to schools in metropolitan and regional Victoria.

\n

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, obtain a Working with Children Check and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship or Visa.
