Mechanical Engineer

This role is ideal for a capable and self-driven Mechanical Engineer who understands HVAC pipework and tube systems in detail, and can confidently take ownership of technical work, solve problems independently, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will play a key role across the team giving engineering technical support, ensuring compliance standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in delivering HVAC projects across hospitals, data centres, rail infrastructure, and commercial buildings
• Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and design details
• Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, Australian Standards, and client requirements
• Support site teams during implementation and delivery phases
• Review, prepare, and submit tender pricing in accordance with specifications
• Provide HVAC/mechanical engineering input during tender stages
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
• Provide technical advice to project managers, supervisors, and internal teams
• Prepare handover documentation for new projects

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 2+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within HVAC
• Experience across sectors such as healthcare, data centres, commercial or education
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, particularly pipework and mechanical services
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, and compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A reliable, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
