Senior Accountant - Public Practice

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing Business Services and Tax team in Sydney CBD. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners, high-net-worth individuals and a diverse portfolio of clients. You will have great support from junior accountants and off-shore team helping you do the heavy lifting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals
• Manage a portfolio of business services and taxation clients
• Provide proactive tax and business advice to clients
• Assist with tax planning, cash flow management and business performance discussions
• Liaise with the ATO, ASIC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients
• Support the integration of client files, accounting records and practice workflows
• Mentor and support junior team members where required

What you will bring

• 3+ years experience within a public practice accounting firm
• Strong technical knowledge across business services and taxation
• Proficiency in Xero and XPM, with exposure to CAS360, Now Infinity and Ignition highly regarded
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to work autonomously, manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes
• CA/CPA qualifications not essential, highly regarded
