Property Maintenance & Gardening -- Team Leader / Experienced
Job Description
Property Maintenance & Gardening — Team Leader / Experienced \n
Property Maintenance & Gardening — Team Leader or Ready to Step Up
\n
Full-time | Northern Beaches, Sydney | Work vehicle provided
\n
Two types of people will suit this role. You might already be running a maintenance crew and want to do it for a company that works to a higher standard. Or you might have solid hands‑on years behind you and be ready to take the step up into leading the work yourself.
\n
Either way, this is a role with real scope — and a division that’s growing around it.
About Beaches Group \n
Beaches Group is a building, landscaping and design company based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. We design and construct high-end homes and gardens — and then we look after them.
\n
That’s what makes this different from a standard mowing round. Our maintenance division exists so the properties we hand over keep improving year after year, for clients we’ve often known for a decade. You’ll be caring for gardens our own team designed and built, on properties between Palm Beach and Mosman.
The role \n
You’ll take ownership of a regular run of established client properties — the standard they’re held to, the programme of works across the seasons, and the quality of what leaves site each day.
\n
The work covers:
\n
- \n
- Garden and lawn care — mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, hedging and shaping \n
- Seasonal programmes — mulching, planting, fertilising and soil conditioning \n
- Monitoring plant health, and identifying pest, disease and irrigation issues before they become problems \n
- Pressure washing and general presentation of driveways, decks, paths, walls and facades \n
- General property maintenance and presentation works \n
- Running the day — planning the run, managing materials, keeping vehicles and equipment in order \n
- Directing and developing apprentices and team members on site \n
- Professional, confident contact with long‑term clients \n
\n
You’ll report to an experienced team and have the systems, equipment and support to do the job properly.
What you need \n
- \n
- Full working rights in Australia (we are not offering sponsorship for this role) \n
- A current Australian driver’s licence \n
- Three or more years hands‑on in gardening, landscaping, grounds or property maintenance \n
- Sound plant knowledge and a practical understanding of how to keep a garden healthy — pruning, soil, feeding, lawn care \n
- The judgement to work unsupervised, set the standard and hold it \n
- Confident, professional communication with clients \n
- Genuine attention to detail — you notice the things other people walk past \n
What will set you apart \n
- \n
- Experience leading a crew, running a maintenance round, or supervising apprentices \n
- Cert III in Horticulture or Landscape Construction \n
- Depth in pest and disease identification, soil science or fertilising programmes \n
- Irrigation, garden lighting or landscape construction experience \n
- Chemical handling ticket (AQF3), White Card, small machinery tickets \n
\n
If you have the hands‑on years but haven’t formally led a team yet, still apply. We’d rather back someone with the right judgement and standards into the step up than hire a title.
What we offer \n
- \n
- Steady full‑time work with a well‑established local company \n
- Work vehicle provided \n
- Premium properties and quality equipment — not a run‑down operation \n
- Structured systems, clear expectations and supportive leadership \n
- Real progression as the maintenance division grows — into horticultural specialisation, or into running the division \n
- Support for further qualifications and tickets \n
- A team that sticks around — our retention speaks for itself \n
- Regular team social events, plus staff gym, office and warehouse access \n
