The Happiness Project Psychology is a quaint child and family clinic nestled in the beautiful bayside of Wynnum/Manly, which opened in 2021. The clinic features spacious therapy rooms, with large windows and views of the bay.

We are looking for a kind and enthusiastic Child and Adolescent Psychologist (or a newly/nearly graduated provisional psychologist) to join our beautiful team to provide therapy to children and/or adolescents, adults, and their families, as a part-time team member. As we also receive a number of cognitive and developmental/neurodivergent (e.g. ASD) assessment requests, the successful applicant also has the opportunity to complete (and be trained in completing) a wide range assessments if that is their area of interest. Additionally, we provide group therapy for kids, as well as sessions for parents, focusing on the COS model and self-care, and supporting the family as a unit.

Our team have the opportunity for regular group, peer, and individual supervision (with our director who is STAP trained and happy to include supervision for both the Clinical and Educational and Developmental registrar programs as part of the package). Additionally, the role includes the opportunity to participate in weekly team lunches (provided by the practice) and a range of online PD opportunities are available throughout the year.

We are looking for team members who can help support our growth and as such we are always open to developing our resources and what we provide as a clinic to the community. Our clinical director, Lisa Good (Clinical and Educational & Developmental Psychologist), has been working in this sector for the past 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to pass on to those who are relatively new to practicing or to work collaboratively alongside an experienced clinician.

Currently, we provide therapy, assessment, and community engagement projects (such as creating resources for schools, and providing workshops for parents/schools). We also offer group programs (including Walking Wellness Programs) and are keen to engage in other ways in which we can support our local community.

We are looking for practitioners who value work-life balance and providing quality care to the families we engage with. To promote practitioner well-being, we work on a split shift model, where our team members have the opportunity to complete paid work at home as well (e.g. resource creating, report writing, session prep, case notes, etc) and work a shorter day, with fewer clients. We also engage in well-being practices between sessions to reduce burnout and foster a happy and calm work environment.

We have a therapy dog, Arla, and a wonderfully supportive client care coordinator.
