National Safety & Compliance Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive National Safety & Compliance Manager to lead and manage regulatory compliance across our national operations. This critical role ensures the business meets its compliance obligations under OH&S, Heavy Vehicle National Law and other associated regulations.

You will parter with management and work collaboratively alongside internal and external stakeholders to build a strong culture of compliance, safety and accountability.

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility, NHVR and Occupational Health and Safety.

Remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Governance:

• Monitor, manage and report on legislative and regulatory developments.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management on compliance obligations.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and lead NHVR audits.
• Manage NHVAS compliance, including Notice to Produce and NHVR Portal maintenance.
• Customer and supplier compliance and assurance.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments, safety audits and hazard management activities.
• Coordinate and verify compliance activities across NHVR, HACCP and PBS frameworks.
• Lead driver and subcontractor compliance checks and corrective action processes.
• Oversee incident reporting and corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Work closely with insurance representatives and management on active and potential claims.
• Support claims processing through documentation coordination and liaison with insurance and legal representatives.

Fatigue & Mass Management:

• Partner with HR to monitor and manage Mass Management and Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) inductions, onboarding and maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate

is a detail-oriented compliance professional with strong working knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation and safety frameworks. You are confident leading audits, investigations and regulatory interactions, and you thrive in a role that requires structure, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Experience in the transport and logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of NHVR, CoR, Dangerous Goods and Fatigue Management.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• High attention to detail.
