Key Responsibilities

\n

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of civil construction projects from commencement through to completion.

\n

Your responsibilities will include:

\n

\n
• Managing civil construction projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
\n
• Planning and coordinating project resources, subcontractors, suppliers, plant and personnel.
\n
• Managing project programs, budgets, forecasting, cost control and overall financial performance.
\n
• Administering head contracts and subcontracts, including variations, progress claims, extensions of time and contractual correspondence.
\n
• Working closely with Site Supervisors, engineers, clients, consultants and subcontractors to maintain project progress, accountability and resolve issues.
\n
• Monitoring project performance against construction programs and taking proactive action where delays, risks or cost pressures arise.
\n
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, contractual requirements and relevant standards.
\n
• Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery.
\n
• Supporting HSEQ requirements and ensuring project teams comply with Avard Civil's systems, procedures and site requirements.
\n
• Conducting regular project and site reviews and maintaining clear, accurate project reporting.
\n
• Managing project completion, defects, handover and close-out requirements.
\n

About You

\n

We are looking for an experienced civil construction professional who can confidently manage projects, people and commercial outcomes.

\n

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

\n

\n
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in civil construction project management, project engineering or a comparable project delivery role.
\n
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects such as subdivisions, roadworks, earthworks, drainage, utilities or similar.
\n
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, cost control and project reporting.
\n
• The ability to develop and manage construction programs, project budgets and competing priorities.
\n
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
\n
• Sound knowledge of construction safety, quality and environmental requirements.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients, consultants and authorities.
\n
• A practical, organized and solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
\n
• Competency using project management and construction software. Experience with MS Project, Upvise, Aconex, Hammertech, Breadcrumb would be advantageous.
\n
• Competent in using Microsoft 365, excel, word.
\n
• A current Construction White Card and driver's license.
\n

\n

A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline would be highly regarded, however practical civil construction experience and demonstrated project delivery capability are equally important.
