We are currently seeking an experienced Team Manager Infrastructure, Security & Operations to join a large and diverse local government organisation and provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad technology environment.

\n

Reporting directly to the Chief Digital and Information Officer , this is a senior technology leadership position responsible for multiple teams spanning technical operations, technical delivery and maintenance, cyber security, service desk and IT asset management.

\n

The role will play a key part in shaping the organisation's technology capability, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure and customer-focused IT services across a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment.

The Opportunity \n

You will lead a team of approximately six FTE across multiple technology functions, providing thought leadership, technical direction and people leadership while balancing strategic initiatives with critical business-as-usual operations. Working closely with the Leadership Team and stakeholders across the organisation, you will help shape technology strategy, improve service maturity and deliver initiatives aligned to the organisation's broader strategic objectives. The role has a strong focus on IT infrastructure, service operations, service transition, architecture, cyber security and technology delivery, requiring a leader who can operate comfortably at both a strategic and operational level.

Key Responsibilities \n

\n
• Lead and develop teams across Technical Operations, Technical Delivery & Maintenance, Cyber Security, Service Desk and IT Asset Management
\n
• Provide strategic technology leadership and technical expertise across infrastructure, architecture and service operations
\n
• Lead the ongoing improvement and maturity of technology infrastructure and operational practices
\n
• Provide leadership across ITIL Service Design, Service Transition and components of Service Operations
\n
• Oversee the delivery and maintenance of the organisation's technology infrastructure and architecture
\n
• Lead complex technology projects from planning and design through to implementation, commissioning and reporting
\n
• Provide technical input and thought leadership to senior stakeholders and the broader Leadership Team
\n
• Develop and manage budgets and resources to ensure technology services deliver value and align with organisational priorities
\n
• Build a flexible and sustainable technology resourcing model, including internal and external partnerships
\n
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across technology systems, processes and operating models
\n
• Lead stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation and resolution of complex technology issues
\n
• Support the ongoing development of cyber security capability and maturity
\n

About You \n

\n
• Extensive experience in a senior IT leadership or management role within a large and complex organisation
\n
• Broad experience across multiple IT disciplines, including infrastructure, architecture, networking, server environments, service delivery and service operations
\n
• Strong contemporary leadership capability, with a proven ability to lead diverse technical teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
\n
• Strong understanding of ITIL and experience across Service Design, Service Transition and Service Operations
\n
• Experience leading complex technology projects across planning, design, governance, cost management, implementation, commissioning and reporting
\n
• Strong financial and budget management experience
\n
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
\n
• Demonstrated ability to develop technology strategies, policies, plans and initiatives aligned to organisational priorities
\n
• Experience working across hybrid cloud and internal technology environments
\n
• Strong understanding of technology architecture and project management methodologies such as ITIL, TOGAF and PRINCE2
\n
• Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline
\n
• A minimum of 10 years' experience across a range of IT disciplines
\n
• Previous experience establishing or leading a Cyber Security function will be highly regarded
\n
• Experience within a large, diverse or complex organisation will be highly regarded
\n
• A strong customer-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and service excellence
