Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Education is a diverse and ambitious community committed to transforming education through innovative teaching, research and professional practice. With more than 6,000 students across initial and postgraduate teacher education and transdisciplinary programs, the Faculty plays a significant role in preparing educators for the future.

\n

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Education to provide academic leadership in Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) and contribute to core Initial Teacher Education units. This is an opportunity to shape how future teachers understand and teach HSIE, while contributing to contemporary curriculum, student learning and the broader education profession.

\n

As a Level C academic, you will bring significant experience and academic leadership to the role. You will contribute to teaching excellence, curriculum development and the Faculty's research and scholarship profile, while supporting colleagues and building meaningful connections with schools, professional partners and the wider education community.

\n

What you will bring

\n

You are an experienced educator and academic leader with a strong understanding of HSIE and a passion for preparing future teachers. You bring contemporary approaches to teaching and learning and are motivated to create engaging experiences for students across face-to-face, blended and online environments.

\n

You will be comfortable providing academic leadership, contributing to curriculum development and supporting colleagues, while maintaining an active research or scholarship profile. You will also value collaboration and enjoy building relationships across the University, schools, professional organisations and the broader education community.

\n

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

\n

\n
• A PhD or Professional Doctorate in Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) or a closely related discipline
\n
• An Initial Teacher Education qualification and relevant teaching experience
\n
• Demonstrated excellence in university-level HSIE teaching and curriculum
\n
• A strong research or teaching scholarship record appropriate to Level C
\n
• Experience leading academic, professional or research collaborations
\n

Your opportunity is:

• Full-time, continuing (permanent)
\n
• Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities.
\n
• ACAD Level C. The base salary ranges from $139,568 - $160,473 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $187,753.
