AustCorp Executive is partnering with a well-established manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its engineering and maintenance team in the Newcastle region.
\n
This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter who enjoys fault-finding, improving equipment reliability and working within a fast-paced production environment.
The role \n
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment and supporting reliable site operations. Your duties will include:

- \n
- Completing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance \n
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns \n
- Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics and hydraulic systems \n
- Supporting production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance \n
- Carrying out equipment installations, modifications and improvement projects \n
- Identifying recurring faults and contributing to root-cause investigations \n
- Recording maintenance activities accurately within the site CMMS \n
- Maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping \n
- Working closely with electricians, operators and other members of the engineering team \n

About you \n
To be considered, you will ideally have:
\n
- \n
- A recognised Australian Mechanical Fitter trade qualification \n
- Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing, mining services, food and beverage, packaging or another industrial environment \n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown response skills \n
- Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics and production machinery \n
- Welding and fabrication capability would be highly regarded \n
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement \n
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team \n
- A strong commitment to workplace safety \n
- Flexibility to work the required roster and participate in overtime when needed \n
