Leading Hand / Shed Manager - Ductwork & Insulation

Job Description

Run the shed. Lead the crew. Be home every night. \n

ACA Insulations is a Brisbane-based mechanical insulation and ductwork manufacturer, working on commercial fitouts, shopping centres, and civic projects across South East Queensland. We're currently based in Clontarf, with plans to move to a larger facility within 6 months as part of our expansion.

\n

This is an on-the-tools role. No FIFO, no interstate travel, no chasing you down for a paper timesheet - just a well-run shed, a small crew who respect you, and a genuine say in how the floor operates.

The Role \n

\n
• Run the day-to-day flow of the shed - duct manufacture, job allocation, and materials
\n
• Lead and mentor a small crew, on the shed floor alongside them, not above them
\n
• Keep jobs moving to deadline across current and upcoming commercial projects
\n
• Work directly with the owner - decisions get made fast, no layers of management
\n

What You'll Need \n

\n
• 3-5+ years hands-on experience in manufacturing - ideally in Air Diffusion
\n
• Full working rights in Australia
\n
• A track record of turning up, on time, every day - and getting the best out of the people around you
\n
• Ability to read and understand Construction Drawings
\n
• Fit for manual handling, ladder work, and an active shed floor
\n

What's In It For You \n

\n
• Home every night - fixed shed hours of manufacturing, no FIFO, no surprise weekend callouts
\n
• Above-award pay plus a performance bonus tied to on-time job delivery
\n
• We fund your tickets - Working at Heights, EWP, forklift, first aid, and more
\n
• Phone allowance included
\n
• Paid shutdown over Christmas/New Year
\n
• A real next step: Leading Hand to Shed/Operations Manager as we move into our new, larger facility
\n

Nice to Have (Not Essential) \n

\n
• Experience with CAMduct or similar duct design/takeoff software
\n
• Working at Heights, EWP or forklift ticket already in handA background specifically in ductwork rather than general sheet metal
