The Opportunity

Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking PGY2+ JMOs, RMOs, Registrars and CMOs to support a variety of departments across its regional and coastal hospitals.
\n
Shifts are available throughout 2026, with options for short blocks, ad-hoc shifts or ongoing availability.
\n
Specialties include Emergency Medicine, ICU, General Medicine, Anaesthetics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology, making this a strong option for doctors wanting flexible locum work, broad clinical exposure and the lifestyle benefits of working in Northern NSW.

Clinical Environment
\n
You will work across regional and coastal hospital settings within Northern NSW LHD, with roles available across acute, ward-based, procedural and after-hours services.

- Broad specialty exposure – work across Emergency Medicine, ICU, General Medicine, Anaesthetics or O&G \n
- Varied clinical settings – gain experience across ward, ED, procedural and after-hours coverage \n
- Support matched to seniority – access consultant supervision or independent shifts depending on your level \n
- Acute care development – build or consolidate experience across diverse regional case presentations \n
- Flexible locum options – choose short blocks, weekends, weekdays or ongoing availability \n

Patient Demographic
\n
You will support a broad regional and coastal patient mix, including adults, older patients, families, acute presentations, ward patients, procedural cases and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation, escalation or transfer.
\n
Key Duties
\n

- Provide clinical cover within your allocated department \n
- Assess and manage patients within scope \n
- Support ward, ED, procedural or after-hours care \n
- Complete clinical documentation and handover \n
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately \n
- Work collaboratively with nursing, medical and senior clinical teams \n

Requirements

- AHPRA General Registration \n
- PGY2+ with relevant acute care or specialty experience \n
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check \n
- Willingness to complete required online training and credentialing \n
\n
