Qualified Motor Mechanic (Min. 5 Year Experience) – North Geelong – $35–$45/hr

Malik Automotive is looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years' automotive workshop experience to join our team in North Geelong.

\n

We are looking for an experienced mechanic who can work confidently and independently, diagnose faults accurately and take pride in completing quality repairs.

\n

You will work on a variety of Japanese, European and Australian vehicles, with a mix of servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, fault finding and roadworthy-related work.

\n

If you enjoy diagnosing problems properly rather than simply replacing parts, this role will suit you.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Carry out scheduled servicing and routine maintenance
\n
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
\n
• Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement
\n
• Carry out brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
\n
• Perform engine and transmission repairs and replacements
\n
• Carry out electrical fault finding and basic electrical repairs
\n
• Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs
\n
• Carry out pre‐RWC inspections and repairs where required
\n
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
\n
• Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures
\n
• Maintain accurate job cards and service records
\n
• Communicate professionally with team members and customers when required
\n
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
\n

Skills & Experience

\n

Essential:

\n

\n
• Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop
\n
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
\n
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability
\n
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently
\n
• Experience using automotive diagnostic scan tools
\n
• Ability to diagnose faults rather than relying on parts replacement
\n
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
\n
• Reliable, punctual and professional
\n
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
\n
• Current Australian driver's licence
\n

Experience with Japanese, European and Australian vehicles is highly regarded.
