What you'll be doing
As a Medical Radiation Scientist, you’ll use your clinical knowledge and technical skills to provide safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging while delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Key responsibilities will be to:
Perform a diverse range of radiographic examinations, including general, trauma, mobile, operating theatre, dental and fluoroscopy.
Deliver accurate, timely imaging while maintaining professional standards, radiation safety and patient identification requirements.
Explain procedures clearly, reassure patients and adapt your approach to their individual physical and emotional needs.
Work collaboratively with radiographers, medical, nursing and other multidisciplinary teams to support effective patient care.
Participate in a 24/7 rotating roster and on-call arrangements as required, while contributing to service quality, safety and improvement.
Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Degree in or currently completing degree in Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
Registration: Eligible for and registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) prior to commencement
License: Eligible for or possess NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in general radiography, including but not limited to general and trauma, operating suite, mobile, dental and fluoroscopy
Experience working in a busy hospital environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to solve clinical situations and to develop effective solutions
