The Opportunity

As our Environment & Sustainability Business Partner, you'll play a key role in supporting construction projects and operational teams across Australia to manage environmental risks, meet legal, client and business requirements, and drive continual improvement.

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, you'll partner with project and operational teams to provide practical environmental and sustainability advice, support planning and approvals, conduct audits and inspections, investigate incidents, and help ensure environmental obligations are effectively managed across our projects and facilities.

You'll support the ongoing implementation and continual improvement of Interflow's Environmental Management System, providing guidance on environmental compliance, risk management, governance and assurance activities. You'll contribute to environmental reporting, legal compliance reviews, performance monitoring and the development of practical tools, guidance and training that help build environmental capability across the business.

You'll also contribute to Interflow's broader sustainability strategy. From supporting emissions reduction initiatives, waste and circular economy programs, resource efficiency and sustainable procurement, through to coordinating sustainability data collection and reporting, you'll help improve environmental and sustainability performance across the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to work across both operational environmental management and sustainability, influencing projects, operations and strategic initiatives while contributing to the delivery of critical water infrastructure across Australia.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, sustainability or a related discipline
• 5+ years' experience in environmental management within construction, infrastructure, utilities, civil works, mining or a similar industry
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals, compliance obligations and environmental risk management
• Knowledge of environmental management systems and the practical application of ISO 14001 principles
• Experience reviewing environmental planning and management documentation, including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), environmental approvals and project-specific environmental controls
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationships across all levels of the business
