As the Workshop Leading Hand, you will provide hands‑on leadership to the workshop team while ensuring maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will coordinate daily workshop activities, supervise planned and reactive work, and support the maintenance of pumps, mixers, mechanical seals, rotating equipment and associated plant systems. You will also be willing and able to work on customer sites as required.

This is an opportunity to step into a hands‑on leadership position where you can use your mechanical expertise to lead a skilled workshop team and make a real impact on daily operations.

What Your Day Will Look Like

• Lead and support the workshop team in completing fitting, maintenance and repair activities.
• Allocate and coordinate labour, materials and daily job priorities to minimise delays and costs.
• Supervise planned, unplanned and emerging maintenance work.
• Perform hands‑on mechanical fitting duties, including equipment inspections, fault‑finding, repairs and overhauls.
• Support repairs to pumps, mixers, bearings, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Ensure accurate job scoping, estimates, timeframes and maintenance documentation are completed.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is completed in line with Company health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist with team rostering, workflow planning and development of workshop personnel.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Experience in a mechanical fitting, maintenance or workshop environment within manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team in a workshop or maintenance setting.
• Strong technical knowledg e of pumps, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Experience with equipment overhauls, bearing replacements, shaft alignment and fault‑finding.
• Sound understanding of maintenance planning, job scheduling, labor allocation and materials management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and customers.
• Willingness to travel to work on customer sites as required.
