Outdoor Education Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly organised Outdoor Education Teacher to join the Outdoor Education team in Term 1, 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of a dynamic Outdoor Education program that supports students from Prep to Year 9.

This is a full-time fixed-term position for 12-months.

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Outdoor Education, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse range of outdoor experiences that promote personal growth, resilience, wellbeing and environmental awareness. The role requires a strong commitment to student safety, exceptional organisational skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, staff and external providers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, preparing and documenting Outdoor Education programs across multiple year levels.
• Coordinating and leading programs from Prep to Year 9.
• Managing student wellbeing and risk management processes, including incident reporting and follow-up.
• Liaising with students, parents, staff and specialist providers to support individual student needs and program participation.
• Collaborating with colleagues to manage equipment, resources, logistics and program preparation.
• Overseeing food planning, transport arrangements and operational requirements for camps and expeditions.
• Providing leadership and support to Outdoor Education instructors and program staff.
• Contributing actively to curriculum development, program reviews and the broader life of the school community.

• Relevant teaching qualifications.
• A passion for Outdoor Education and experiential learning.
• Strong communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational capabilities.
• A commitment to student wellbeing, safety and inclusion.
• The flexibility and energy required to support a vibrant Outdoor Education program.
• Current Wilderness First Aid qualification (minimum four-day course; seven-day course preferred).

A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration is a requirement of this position.
