We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead the design delivery for a major utility‑scale solar farm integrated with an AC Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). In this critical role, you will take ownership of the project's engineering lifecycle, driving the design phase from 30% concept through to IFC.

Bridging the gap between technical design and project execution, you will ensure that all engineering deliverables are technically robust, constructable, and aligned with project schedules and commercial objectives. Whilst this position will require you to attend site regularly, you will primarily be based out of our North Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the multidisciplinary design process for the AC BESS and utility-scale solar farm, taking the design from 30% maturity through to final IFC.
• Provide rigorous technical oversight with a primary focus on the electrical engineering components, including grid connection, substations, power conversion systems, and battery integration.
• Manage and coordinate external design consultancies and OEMs, ensuring all deliverables meet strict quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Act as the primary technical interface between the design consultants, project management, procurement, and on‑site construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Facilitate and oversee critical design reviews, Safety in Design (SiD) workshops, and value engineering initiatives.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant national standards, grid codes, and local utility connection requirements.

About You

You will possess a strong technical foundation combined with the practical project management acumen required to drive complex renewable infrastructure to completion.

• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (essential).
• Design Management: Demonstrated track record of managing complex engineering designs from early phases (30% / FEED) through to IFC on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Project Experience: Extensive hands‑on experience in the delivery of utility‑scale solar and BESS projects. You must have a strong understanding of the complete project lifecycle and how detailed design translates directly to on‑site construction and commissioning.
• Technical Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in electrical systems, High Voltage (HV) infrastructure, and power systems engineering within the renewables sector.
• Leadership: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage consultant performance, and resolve complex technical clashes.
