Genuine Flexibility Without Billing Pressure
An established Brisbane personal injury practice is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer with approximately 3–5 years PAE to join its growing team.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role suited to someone who is already confident managing personal injury matters and can step in and run files without needing close supervision. You will manage a mixed caseload, predominantly across WorkCover claims, together with CTP and PIPA matters.
The firm takes a practical approach to performance. There are no daily billing expectations, with the focus instead on progressing files, achieving strong outcomes for clients and maintaining a sustainable workload.
The Role
You will manage your own personal injury files across both pre-litigation and litigated stages, including:
- Managing predominantly WorkCover claims, together with CTP and PIPA matters
- Taking detailed client statements and advising clients throughout their claims
- Preparing and lodging WorkCover claims
- Managing matters from initial instructions through to settlement
- Drafting correspondence, court material and other legal documents
- Liaising with insurers, medical professionals, counsel and other stakeholders
- Preparing matters for conferences and mediations
- Negotiating settlements and progressing files efficiently
- Managing an initial caseload of approximately 30 files
You will also have strong administration support, allowing you to focus on progressing matters and client outcomes.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Approximately 3–5 years PAE in personal injury law
- Strong experience across WorkCover claims
- Exposure to CTP and motor vehicle accident matters
- Confidence managing files independently from start to finish
- Experience across both pre-litigation and litigated matters
- Strong client communication and statement-taking skills
- The ability to prioritise matters and keep files progressing without close supervision
