Motor Mechanic (General) - Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanic (ANZSCO 321211)

This is a full-time position within a friendly but fast-paced automotive workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Perform routine servicing and scheduled maintenance of light vehicles
\n
• Diagnose and repair petrol and diesel fuel systems in light motor vehicles
\n
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections
\n
• Diagnose and repair brake, clutch, and steering systems
\n
• Replace timing belts and related components
\n
• Diagnose, repair, and service fuel injection systems
\n
• Diagnose and repair automotive electrical faults
\n
• Remove and replace engines and transmissions
\n
• Use diagnostic scan tools and other automotive diagnostic equipment
\n
• Carry out general mechanical diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance
\n
• Conduct quality checks to ensure vehicles are safe and fit for use
\n
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment and comply with workplace health and safety requirements
\n

Skills and Requirements

\n

\n
• Relevant trade qualification in light vehicle mechanical technology, such as an AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV, or an equivalent overseas qualification.
\n
• At least one (1) year of relevant professional experience in automotive mechanical repairs and servicing
\n
• Current open C-class manual driver's licence, permitting the lawful road-testing of customer vehicles in Queensland.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to use automotive diagnostic scan tools
\n
• Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
\n
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
\n
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
\n
• Ability to work effectively within a team
\n
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
\n
• Experience working with European vehicles will be highly regarded
\n
