St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery.

Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.

Our Services include wide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Outpatient Department as Team Leader - Outpatients. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of the department by providing guidance, mentoring and operational leadership to a team of administrative caregivers across public outpatient clinics, referral management and antenatal services.

Working closely with the Outpatient Performance Manager, you will help coordinate staffing resources, manage workloads, support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the delivery of efficient, patient-centred services. Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance and day-to-day support to Outpatient Department caregivers.
• Coordinate staff rostering, leave planning and operational resource allocation.
• Monitor outpatient clinics, referral volumes and waitlists to support service performance.
• Assist with workload management and escalation of operational issues.
• Support caregiver training, mentoring and performance development.
• Contribute to recruitment, quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with resolving patient concerns and supporting positive patient experiences.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-focused team culture that reflects St John of God Health Care values.

You will be a positive and approachable leader with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop team members while maintaining a strong focus on service delivery and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will bring previous experience leading or supervising teams within a fast-paced administrative environment. You will possess highly developed organisational, communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Your collaborative approach, sound analytical skills and commitment to quality outcomes will enable you to effectively support both caregivers and patients. Experience within healthcare administration and knowledge of outpatient services will be highly regarded.

We can offer you

• Salary: $88,501 to $90,256, plus 12% superannuation
• 12-month Fixed Term, Part Time position, working 22.8 hours per week
