We are seeking an experienced Part-time Accountant to support the finance function at Dunlea Centre, working closely with the Business Manager. This is a hands-on role covering day-to-day accounting, reporting and compliance activity for the agency. Days and hours are flexible and can be negotiated with the right candidate.

Key responsibilities \n

    \n
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of financial budgets and forecasts
    • \n
  • Support monthly reporting to the Business Manager, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow results
    • \n
  • Prepare accounts and supporting documentation for statutory audit
    • \n
  • Maintain accounting records in accordance with the Corporations Act, and support timely lodgment of financial accounts with regulatory authorities including the ACNC and ATO
    • \n
  • Process and oversee invoicing for clients, lessees and service recipients
    • \n
  • Oversee payables input and processing
    • \n
  • Monitor cash flow requirements
    • \n
  • Provide financial analytical support to operational areas to assist decision-making
    • \n
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, bankers and legal advisers as required.

About you \n

    \n
  • Proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community services sector
    • \n
  • MYOB experience viewed favorably
    • \n
  • Sound understanding of accounts payable/receivable, month-end reporting and reconciliations
    • \n
  • Familiarity with ACNC and ATO compliance requirements advantageous
    • \n
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
    • \n
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
    • \n
  • A current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one.
    • \n
