CAD Constructions is looking for an experienced, trade-qualified person to join our growing team as a Project Coordinator / Estimator .

\n
\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who has strong practical construction knowledge and is ready to move away from being on the tools full-time and into estimating, planning and operations coordination .

\n

This is a key position within CAD Constructions and will work closely with our Directors, Operations Supervisor and administration team.

\n
\nThe Role \n
\n

As our Project Coordinator / Estimator, you will be responsible for taking jobs from initial enquiry and scope through to an accurate quotation and clear delivery plan.

\n
\n

Once a job is approved, you will establish the budget, labour allowances, materials and expected timeframe for the works and work closely with our Operations Supervisor to ensure the job is progressing in line with what has been quoted.

Your responsibilities will include:

  Attending site inspections and assessing required works

\n
\n
• \n

  Preparing detailed scopes of work

\n
\n
• \n

  Estimating labour, materials, subcontractors and project costs

\n
\n
• \n

  Preparing accurate and competitive quotations

\n
\n
• \n

  Reading plans, specifications and client scopes

\n
\n
• \n

  Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing

\n
\n
• \n

  Establishing realistic labour allowances and job timeframes

\n
\n
• \n

  Setting expected completion dates and project milestones

\n
\n
• \n

  Providing the Operations Supervisor with clear job budgets, allowances and delivery expectations

\n
\n
• \n

  Monitoring job progress against quoted labour, costs and timeframes

\n
\n
• \n

  Following up with the Operations Supervisor where jobs are falling behind schedule or outside the quoted allowances

\n
\n
• \n

  Identifying potential cost or timeframe issues early

\n
\n
• \n

  Assisting with variations and additional works

\n
\n
• \n

  Maintaining communication with key clients regarding quotations, upcoming works and project timeframes

\n
\n
• \n

  Working with management to improve estimating, job planning and profitability

\n
\n
• \n

  Becoming a key point of contact within CAD Constructions for clients, suppliers and subcontractors

\n
\n

\n
\n

This is not a site supervisor position. Our Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the field team and day-to-day delivery of works. Your role is to ensure our jobs are properly scoped, accurately quoted, realistically planned and commercially monitored through to completion.

  Experienced in the building, construction or maintenance industry

  Strong in practical construction knowledge

\n

  Able to accurately assess how long works should take

\n
• \n

  Confident estimating labour and material requirements

\n
\n
• \n

  Commercially minded and conscious of job profitability

\n
\n
• \n

  Highly organised with strong attention to detail

\n
\n
• \n

  Comfortable communicating with clients, trades, suppliers and management

\n
\n
• \n

  Confident holding people accountable to agreed project timeframes

\n
\n
• \n

  Able to identify potential problems before they impact a project's budget or deadline

\n
\n
• \n

  Computer literate and willing to learn our systems

\n
\n
• \n

  Positive, reliable and looking for a long-term career opportunity

Experience in carpentry, building maintenance, renovations, insurance works, commercial maintenance or similar construction environments will be highly regarded.
