One of our government clients has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join the team. In this role, you'll focus on Cisco network infrastructure and contribute to ongoing initiatives that ensure the network environment is secure, reliable and aligned with best practices and future-state architecture.

We're looking for someone with solid networking knowledge and experience designing, implementing and supporting complex enterprise network environments within a large operational environment.

The role will support both BAU operations and strategic project delivery, with initiatives involving SD-WAN, data centre network refreshes, WAN infrastructure, Internet Edge services, network hardware refreshes, Cisco ISE and network monitoring platforms.

We're seeking someone with experience working with Cisco and Fortinet technology stacks, wireless and troubleshooting. Experience working with load balancers and supporting larger data centres and operations would be an advantage.

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid flexibility, including two days working from home. The role operates during standard business hours and includes participation in an on-call roster.

Responsibilities Will Include

• Technical leadership and engineering support across network infrastructure services.
• Solution design, implementation, migration planning and cutover execution.
• Proactive operational support, troubleshooting and major incident response.
• Network lifecycle management, patching and technical debt remediation.
• Site audits, compliance assessments and infrastructure health reviews.
• Development and maintenance of technical standards, documentation and support processes.
• Mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and team members.
• Participation in after-hours maintenance and project activities where required.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• An active NV1 clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP or similar) and other networking certifications; ITIL certification is highly regarded.
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting complex enterprise network environments within a large operational environment.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, SD-WAN, load balancers and supporting larger data centres and operations would be advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, team player with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to share knowledge and support the team.
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster.
