As part of this expansion, we are seeking a full-time Customer Service Officer to join the team and help establish our new Mackay branch. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the success of a brand-new branch, helping to create a welcoming environment for customers while building strong local relationships.

What you'll be doing

\n

As a Customer Service Officer, you'll be one of the friendly faces and voices of The Capricornian Bank. You'll help customers in branch and over the phone with a wide range of everyday banking needs.

\n

Your day might include:

\n

\n
• Helping customers with everyday banking, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cards and account enquiries.
\n
• Opening new accounts and memberships, managing customer details and assisting with term deposits.
\n
• Listening to customers, answering their questions and finding solutions or connecting them with the right person when they need more specialised help.
\n
• Building strong customer relationships by checking in with customers and understanding how we can better support their needs.
\n
• Supporting customers with banking products and services, including insurance, while identifying opportunities to connect them with our lending and specialist teams.
\n
• Working as part of a supportive team and helping with the day-to-day operation of the branch.

About You

\n

You don't need years of banking experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for the right attitude, a willingness to learn and someone who genuinely enjoys helping people.

\n

You'll bring:

• A friendly, positive and customer-focused attitude.

• Great communication skills and the confidence to talk with a wide range of people.
\n
• A genuine interest in helping customers and finding solutions to their needs.
\n
• Good attention to detail and the ability to get things right, particularly when handling money and customer information.

• Confidence with numbers, technology and learning new systems.
\n
• The ability to work well in a team while also taking responsibility for your own work.

• A willingness to learn about banking, financial products and regulatory requirements.

New to banking? That's okay. If you have strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn, we will provide training and support to help you build your knowledge and confidence in the role.
