Customer Service / Service Officers | Queensland Government

FindMeA is recruiting multiple Service Officers for temporary Queensland Government opportunities based in Brisbane CBD.
We’re looking for people who are confident communicators, good problem-solvers and comfortable working through challenging conversations. With positions available across different teams, we’re open to a range of backgrounds and experience.

Your new role
There are multiple positions available across different teams, so the exact focus of your role will depend on where your experience and strengths are best suited.
You could be:
Managing case loads (high volume phone calls & emails)
Navigating challenging conversations and working towards an outcome
Negotiating with customers to resolve outstanding matters
Reviewing applications, financial forms and correspondence
Assessing information and determining the appropriate next steps
Investigating matters and resolving more complex enquiries
Preparing clear and accurate written responses
Working across multiple computer systems to input, retrieve and analyse information
Maintaining accurate records and following established processes
Working collaboratively with your team to meet service and performance expectations
The broader Service Officer role can involve making assessments, exercising judgement, negotiating debt resolution and enforcement actions, compliance activities and project work depending on the position.
What will you need to be successful?
There isn't one particular background we're looking for.
You could come from customer service, contact centres, banking, insurance, collections, accounts receivable, complaints, investigations, compliance, case management, administration or Government.
What we're really looking for is someone who can:
Communicate confidently over the phone and in writing
Handle difficult or sensitive conversations professionally
Strong problem solving ability
Maintain strong attention to detail in a busy environment
Learn and navigate multiple computer systems
Make considered decisions and take ownership of their work
Work well within a team
Learn and apply policies, procedures and guidelines
Previous experience in negotiation, debt collection, investigations, complaints or complex customer service will be highly regarded, but you don't need to tick every box.
There are no mandatory qualifications required for the underlying AO3 Service Officer role.
