Spencer Systems is a second-generation family-owned business servicing the commercial laundry and dry-cleaning industry across Australia. With one of the largest service teams in the sector, we pride ourselves on technical capability, responsiveness and long-term customer relationships.

We are seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Project Manager to take ownership of our installation and equipment projects and play a key role in the next stage of our growth.

\n

About the Role

\n

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will plan and deliver our installation and equipment projects from initial scoping through to commissioning and handover — on time and on budget.

\n

You will be the central point of coordination between customers, technicians, subcontractors, suppliers and our warehouse, ensuring every project runs to a clear program and every stakeholder knows what to expect. Beyond client projects, you will also deliver internal projects that grow and improve the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver client installation projects end to end
\n
• Own project budgets and margins, and manage variations
\n
• Review quotes and designs for buildability before projects are sold
\n
• Coordinate subcontractors, site works, deliveries and commissioning
\n
• Ensure site readiness ahead of installation dates
\n
• Keep customers informed throughout the project lifecycle
\n
• Take ownership of escalated customer issues through to resolution
\n
• Deliver internal growth and improvement projects
\n
• Report project status and margin monthly
\n
• Contribute to a safe and compliant workplace culture
\n

About You

\n

You are practical, organised and calm under pressure. You walk a site and see what is missing, and you treat on time and on budget as a personal standard.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n

\n
• Proven hands-on project delivery experience in equipment installation, fit-out, building services or a similar practical field
\n
• Confidence managing budgets, programs, subcontractors and site logistics
\n
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, including difficult conversations about time and cost
\n
• Proficiency with project or job management software (Simpro experience highly regarded)
\n
• A trade or technical background (advantageous but not essential)
\n
