Head of Design -Fashion Designer / Product Developer/Product Manager
The Senior Fashion Designer / Product Developer is responsible for leading the design and development of apparel collections that align with brand strategy, seasonal direction, and commercial targets. Working closely with the Brand Directors, this role executes the creative vision from concept through to final sample approval while managing supplier communications, cost negotiations, and product timelines. This is a senior leadership role that ensures design integrity, market relevance, and profitability while providing structure and support to the broader product team.
Key responsibilities
Translate creative concepts from the Directors into innovative, commercially viable collections
Lead monthly product development including design stories, mood and colour boards, and trend forecasting
Deliver timely and accurate CADs, incorporating fabric, construction, and production methods
Oversee design execution from sketch to final sample, ensuring fit, quality, and brand aesthetic
Conduct and lead fit sessions; support assistant designer to communicate feedback and revisions to suppliers and leadership team
Ensure adherence to the critical path and timely delivery of seasonal collections
Evaluate sell-through and trend data to inform future collections and continuous improvement
Maintain detailed documentation including block, fabric, and design libraries
Design within cost targets to meet seasonal margin and RRP objectives
Lead price negotiations with suppliers to meet COGS targets and maintain product value
About you
5+ years' experience in fashion design and product development, ideally in a senior role
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity and strategy
Proven ability to design trend-relevant, brand-aligned product with commercial appeal
Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and CAD; strong understanding of garment construction and textiles
Experience with supplier management, cost negotiations, and global sourcing
Excellent time management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
