THE ROLE

We're looking for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our fabrics team immediately. You'll be operating an industrial sewing machine working with mesh, acrylic, PVC and canvas to produce premium outdoor blind and awning products to specification.

This role goes beyond sewing. You'll also assist with fabric cutting, heat welding and splining as part of a close-knit fabrics team. If you take pride in clean, accurate work and want to be part of a team that holds itself to a high standard then this is the place for you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Operating an industrial sewing machine across a range of fabric types including mesh, acrylic, PVC and canvas
• Hemming and finishing blind and awning fabrics to specification
• Assisting with fabric cutting, heat welding and splining
• Reading and following job sheets and standard operating procedures
• Working from drawings or samples to understand product construction
• Maintaining quality standards and flagging issues when you see them
• Contributing to a clean, safe and organised workshop floor

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience operating an industrial sewing machine. This is essential.
• Comfortable working with heavy duty fabrics and materials
• Able to read and follow technical job sheets and construction drawings
• Good attention to detail. Fabric finishing is visible in the final product.
• Someone who works independently and manages their own output
• A team player who communicates and asks when they're not sure
• Experience with outdoor fabrics such as mesh, acrylic, PVC or canvas is highly regarded but not essential
