Due to growth we are seeking an enthusiastic Customs Broker to join our Customs team. You will work closely with our internal teams and will be a critical team member who ensures efficient and compliant customs clearance for a broad range of commodities.

The position vacant can be filled at any of our Australian office locations being Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide or Perth.

\nTasks for the role include; \n
\n

\n
\n
• Formal lodgment of customs declarations
\n
\n
• Provide mentorship and support to compilers/classifiers
\n
\n
• Assess commodity and non commodity documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
\n
\n
• Understand a diverse range of commodities and ensure classification is in line with Government Acts and Regulations
\n
\n
• Strive to identify and use the lowest rate of duty and GST for all entries
\n
\n
• Ensure CP questions are answered accurately with supporting detail
\n
\n
• Ensure outcomes such as directions are accurate and as desired
\n
\n
• Provide a high level of customer service internally and externally for technical advice matters
\n
\n
• Assist with internal audits
\n
\n
• Complete refund and drawback applications as required.
\n
\n
• Collaborate with our advisory team
\n
\n
• Identify opportunities for process improvement
\n
\n
• Maintain knowledge of relative legislations
\n
\n
• Attend seminars as required for learning and current events. Online and face-to-face
\n
\n
• Maintain government relations and monitor border watch concerns
\n
\n

\n
\nExperience and skills required for this role include; \n
\n

\n
\n
• Must have current Australian Customs Brokers Licence
\n
\n
• CPD completed historically and up to date currently
\n
\n
• Must have 19.1 and 19.2 approved arrangement accreditation with DAFF
\n
\n
• Strong understanding of government regulations and law, international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS.
\n
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
\n
• CW1 experience preferred
\n
\n
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
\n
\n
• Knowledge and experience lodging a diverse range of commodities.
\n
\n
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook).
\n
\n
• Experience with BICON and COLS.
\n
\n
• Motivated individual who works well within a corporate, compliance-focused industry environment.
\n
\n
• Teamwork oriented.
\n
\n
• Comply with Quality Management System requirements.
\n
\n

Salary is negotiable depending on experience. All operations within Harders are Australian based. Hybrid working arrangements of 3 days per week in office available for the right candidate.
