Your next career opportunity
\n As an Equine Veterinary Nurse, you will provide high quality care in hospital and ambulatory settings.
\n You will support specialist clinicians, mentor DVM students and contribute to a leading equine teaching hospital.

\n

What you will deliver:

\n

\n
• Provide high quality equine nursing care, including horse handling, restraint, treatment support and ongoing inpatient husbandry.
\n
• Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, surgery, anaesthesia, and emergency care, ensuring thorough preparation and post procedure monitoring.
\n
• Maintain clinical equipment, stocks, and records, upholding rigorous biosecurity, infection control and workplace safety standards.
\n
• Support delivery of ambulatory services by preparing vehicles, equipment and providing nursing assistance during farm visits.
\n
• Guide DVM students in practical equine nursing, horse handling and professional behaviour within a supportive teaching environment.
\n

You may be a great fit if you:

\n

\n
• Hold a Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, or equivalent experience, ideally with equine focus.
\n
• Bring proven equine veterinary nursing and horse handling experience within a clinical practice or hospital environment.
\n
• Demonstrate strong organisational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities and follow detailed clinical protocols.
\n
• Apply sound knowledge of animal welfare, infection control, biosecurity and safe large animal handling practices.
\n
• Use veterinary practice software and animal care databases confidently to support accurate records and billing.
\n
• Value working in a collaborative teaching hospital, supporting veterinarians and mentoring veterinary students.
\n
