Full-Time - Consultant Year 1-9: $424,525 - $539,140 per annum*

Sessional - Consultant Year 1-9: $817.44 - $1,038.13 per session*
\n
*Above remuneration is inclusive of base rate as of 3 September 2026, 12% superannuation and applicable allowances. Remuneration is subject to assessment of qualifications, clinical skills and years of practice.

This recruitment pool will be used to fill current and future permanent, fixed-term, full-time, part-time, and sessional opportunities that may arise during the life of the pool.

About the Role
\n
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in the continued development of mental health services across the Midwest, providing expert clinical care, leadership, mentorship and strategic input into service delivery.
\n
This role will suit a senior Consultant Psychiatrist who is development-focused, and who is motivated by the opportunity to lead change, solve complex challenges, develop innovative approaches and create new opportunities for consumers, staff and future mental health professionals.
\n
This is more than a clinical role. It is an opportunity to influence service development, drive innovation and help shape the future of mental health care for diverse rural and regional communities while working alongside a highly supportive multidisciplinary team.

A major transformation is underway at the Health Campus. Supported by a $190.3 million redevelopment, the campus is evolving into a centre of excellence for regional healthcare, with a new Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and purpose-built Mental Health Inpatient Unit expanding specialist services across the Midwest.
\n
The new Mental Health Inpatient Unit will comprise 15 beds, including 4 Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) beds, co-located with the Community Mental Health Clinic to support integrated and patient-centred care.

Note: Applications are invited only from Senior Consultant Psychiatrists who have at least three years of experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Australia, hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), and possess unrestricted specialist registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Board of Australia.
