As part of our growth, we're building out our ground operations in the Sunshine Coast and looking for experienced people to join our team.

\n

This is a casual role offering roughly 12+ hours a week and does require availability for evening shifts.

\n

About the role

\n

Service Delivery Specialist (SDS) is the unified ground role at Bare. It brings together three streams of work service support, transfers, and return of ashes under one role and one career path. We've designed it this way because the people we work with don't fit into traditional funeral-industry silos. An SDS might do a transfer from a hospital in the morning, then bring real presence and empathy to a service that same afternoon. The work is varied, hands-on, and meaningful.

This role suits people who take pride in helping families through one of the hardest moments of their lives. Some people in this role want breadth across all of it; others want to specialise deeply in one part. Both paths are real, and we'll shape the work to what suits you. You'll be on-site at funerals and memorials, in vans doing transfers, at residences delivering ashes, and at our hub keeping operations running at the mix that's right for you.

Key responsibilities

\n

Service support

\n

\n
• On-site at funerals and memorials, supporting families, celebrants, and our service conductors.
\n
• Set up venues, flowers, orders of service, AV equipment.
\n
• Operate music, slideshows, livestream and broadcaster setups.
\n
• Carry coffins, support pallbearing, manage hearse loading and unloading.
\n
• Read the room and provide presence without intruding.
\n
• Remain composed and adaptable when last-minute changes arise.
\n

\n

Transfers

\n

\n
• Transfer deceased persons from the place of passing to our mortuary facilities — hospitals, aged-care, private homes, public settings.
\n
• Work respectfully and professionally with healthcare staff, police, and coronial personnel.
\n
• Communicate compassionately with families at the point of collection.
\n
• Handle and transport the deceased using provided tools and training, including body lifter and stretcher equipment.
\n
• Safely navigate stairs, limited-access locations, and complex extractions.
\n
• Participate in a 24 hour on-call roster and meet agreed response timeframes.
\n

\n

Return of ashes

\n

\n
• Coordinate the return of ashes to families across the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas.
\n
• Liaise directly with families to arrange the best possible return experience.
\n
• Hand-deliver ashes at residences with the care and presence that moment requires.
\n
• Contribute to a customer experience that is exceptional, flexible, and patient.
\n

\n

Hub and care work

\n

\n
• In-between transfers, support hub operations: receiving deceased into care, three-point ID, fridge placement, personal effects tracking.
\n
• Coffin trimming, name plates, basic coffin building.
\n
• Mortuary preparation work to the level you are trained for.
\n
• Cleaning, sanitation, vehicle detailing, stock and equipment readiness.
\n

About you

• Physically fit and capable of safe manual handling, including team lifts.
\n
• Comfortable using basic technology (AV systems, music, laptops).
\n
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
\n
• Someone who values dignity, respect, and quiet professionalism in every task.

Experience we particularly value

\n

\n
• Healthcare background, nursing, aged care, hospital, ambulance, allied health.
\n
• Funeral industry experience, transfers, services, mortuary, ROA, or related work.
\n
• Hospitality or events background where you've managed setups and live customer interaction.
\n

\n

We are looking for experienced candidates for these initial Baringa roles — people who can step into the work with limited ramp-up time and bring confidence from day one.

Requirements

• Full, valid driver's license and own personal transport.
\n
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
\n
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
\n
• Full working rights in Australia.
\n
• Mobile phone.
\n
• Ability to commit to a reliable roster, including some weekend and on-call work.
\n
• Strength and fitness to handle manual transfers as part of a team.
\n
• Sunshine Coast based, with capacity to cover the Greater Sunshine Coast region.
\n
