Collar Care is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join a well-established aged care organisation in the ACT.
\n
This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the delivery of reactive and preventative maintenance , ensuring buildings, property and equipment are maintained to a high standard and that a safe environment is provided for residents, staff and visitors.

About the Role \n
You will be responsible for:
\n
- \n
- Completing preventative and reactive maintenance \n
- Undertaking general handyman and building maintenance \n
- Maintaining property, buildings and equipment \n
- Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner \n
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors when required \n
- Identifying and escalating maintenance risks \n
- Supporting compliance with relevant standards and WHS requirements \n
- Maintaining accurate records relating to maintenance, consumables and expenses \n
- Working collaboratively with staff, contractors, residents and families \n
- Responding to emergency maintenance requirements when required \n

The role is focused on maintaining a safe, functional and high-quality living environment for residents, staff and visitors .
About You \n
To be successful, you will have:
\n
- \n
- 3-5 years' experience in general handyman or building maintenance \n
- Building trade qualifications or equivalent advanced maintenance knowledge and skills \n
- Knowledge of building codes, standards and general maintenance practices \n
- Understanding of WHS requirements \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills \n
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills \n
- The ability to work professionally with residents, families, staff and contractors \n
- A genuine understanding and sensitivity towards working within a residential aged care environment \n
\n
Aged care, retirement living or health experience is desirable.

- Current Driver's Licence \n
- Relevant maintenance/building experience \n
