Registered Nurse – Albany, WA

I-MED Radiology is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Albany, Western Australia, on a permanent basis.

Ideally, we are looking for someone interested in a full-time position; however, part-time arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse looking for a varied clinical role where you can use your existing nursing skills while developing specialist experience within medical imaging and procedural radiology. Previous radiology experience is not essential, with training and support available to help you develop the skills required for the role.

Our Albany team is looking for a personable and collaborative nurse who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary environment and is comfortable taking an active role in patient care and the management of the daily clinical workload.

What will you be doing?

As a Registered Nurse within I-MED Radiology, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients attending the clinic for a range of imaging examinations and procedures.

You will work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers, administration staff and other members of the clinical team, while also having the opportunity to work autonomously and use your nursing judgement in the delivery of patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and assessing patients for imaging examinations and procedures
• Providing nursing support during procedural and interventional radiology
• Cannulation and supporting contrast administration
• Monitoring patients and providing post-procedure care and recovery
• Providing clear patient education, reassurance and discharge information
• Assisting with the coordination of patients, procedures and clinical priorities throughout the day
• Maintaining high standards of patient safety, infection control and clinical documentation
• Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide an excellent patient experience

About you

We are open to Registered Nurses from a range of clinical backgrounds. Previous experience within radiology, procedural nursing, surgical nursing or a similar environment would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

• Holds current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
• Is confident providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care
• Communicates effectively with patients and colleagues

• Can work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Brings a positive, professional and personable approach to the workplace
• Is interested in developing new clinical and procedural skills

Develop your skills in radiology

For nurses new to medical imaging, this role provides an opportunity to build specialist knowledge while using the clinical skills you already have.

Depending on your existing experience, you will have opportunities to further develop skills across areas such as procedural radiology, patient assessment, IV cannulation, contrast administration and post-procedure care, with support from the experienced team around you.

Hours and flexibility

The clinic operates across daytime hours, generally between 7:30am and 5:00pm.

Standard shifts are typically 7.6 hours, with some flexibility in working arrangements. Longer shifts to facilitate an RDO may also be an option depending on operational requirements.

We are ideally seeking a full-time Registered Nurse, although part-time arrangements can be considered for the right person.
