The Sharks Group is entering an exciting new chapter, with the highly anticipated opening of the new Sharks Leagues Club this Spring.

\n

We’re looking for an organised, energetic and customer-focused Functions Coordinator to join the team at Sharks Leagues Club.

\n

Working closely with our Functions Manager, you’ll play an important role in coordinating and delivering a diverse range of functions and events – from corporate functions and celebrations through to member events, Club activations and Sharks game days.

\n

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be involved from the initial enquiry and planning stages right through to being on the floor and helping bring the event to life.

About the role \n

As Functions & Events Coordinator, you’ll be a key point of contact for our clients, helping them plan their event and ensuring all the details are captured, communicated and delivered.

\n

You’ll work across our dedicated function rooms, The Chairmans, and other private and semi‑private spaces throughout Sharks Leagues Club.

You will: \n

• Manage incoming function and event enquiries and assist clients with packages, spaces and event requirements.
\n
• Coordinate functions from booking and planning through to event delivery and post‑event follow‑up.
\n
• Prepare quotes, booking documentation, function sheets, event orders and run sheets.
\n
• Coordinate room layouts, catering, beverages, AV, entertainment, staffing and other event requirements.
\n
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide friendly, professional communication throughout their event journey.
\n
• Follow up enquiries and help convert opportunities into confirmed bookings.
\n
• Support the planning and delivery of Club events, member events, promotions, seasonal celebrations and major activations.
\n
• Liaise with Catering, Marketing, Club Operations, Security, suppliers and other stakeholders.
\n
• Be hands‑on during functions and events, helping coordinate staff, service flow, room presentation and operational requirements.
\n
• Conduct staff briefings and provide on‑the‑job direction to Functions staff.
\n
• Help ensure our functions and events consistently deliver a high‑quality Sharks experience.
\n
• Be involved in key events and Sharks game days as required.
\n

About you \n

We’re looking for someone who loves the detail behind a great event but is just as comfortable being on the floor making sure everything runs to plan.

\n

You’ll be organised, approachable and solutions‑focused, with the ability to juggle multiple enquiries, functions and priorities in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Ideally, you will have: \n

• Previous experience in functions, events, hospitality, administration or a similar customer‑focused role.
\n
• Experience coordinating functions or events from enquiry or concept through to delivery.
\n
• Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills.
\n
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
\n
• Confidence communicating with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
\n
• The ability to remain calm and find solutions when plans change.
\n
• Strong administration and computer skills.
\n
• An understanding of function operations, catering and event delivery.
\n
• Confidence providing direction to event staff and supporting service delivery.
\n
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and game days as required.
\n
